I stopped by the field after the meeting. The chain was down. It looked to me like the north cable end had pulled out of the clamps. I don't know if the wind put too much stress on the cable, or if someone hit it. Since I didn't have any tools and it was getting dark, I left the cable on the ground. I did tie some orange streamers on the cable.

If we are starting to use the cable again, we should make sure the cable is visible. I would hate if some kid on a 4-wheeler hit the cable and got hurt.

Also, I was wondering if we should put a banner on both sides of the driveway advertising the fun fly (so that it is visible from both directions on US41) . It would make the drive easier to find, and if we put the date on the banner, help promote the fun fly. Any idea as to how much a banner would cost, and whether it would require a sign permit?

Thanks for putting something a little better on that cable. Most of the time the wind blows that knee pad thingy to one end and you can't see it. I'm going to go up there tomorrow after work and I'll get it fixed somehow.

We should have our sign up shortly for the field so maybe we can hang a small banner or something from it or off the side of it. Any suggestions?

Speaking of banners, we should place something down by the exits for I-75 and on 41 pointing toward the field. Also something saying free r/c airshow with an arrow at a few locations.

Just got back from the field. I fixed the cable going across the driveway. I'll pick up another clamp so there will be 2 on there like it was before. Anyone have any of those pool noodles or something like that to zip tie on that thing? Those streamers aren't going to last long. Maybe even some 2 foot lengths of 1/4 or 1/2 inch pvc over the cable? I dunno.
Filled in all the holes I could find around the canopy and raked it all out nice and smooth. I got another section of fence up on the right side of the board. Looks like the top rail holder thingy was broken, so the top rail is just sitting on there. I got it stretched as good as I could so we'll prolly have to cut about 1/2 inch or so to put a new rail holder thingy on there.
Also, I dragged the last section of fence to the left side of the field, farthest from the canopy right now, but didn't dig any holes or anything. Didn't want to put it up cause the cement is broken off the one pole and I didn't know if that would be a good place to put it. I put the tables in line with the fence also. Anway. if someone could shoot up there and drag the last section where it's supposed to be, I'll get it in the ground some time this week and start working on the driveway or something.
Chris

There should be two sections in line with the sign and one about four feet in front of the sign. It was designed that way to protect the opening created near the sign. The left side is right next to the flag pole and the right side should be about three feet from the sign in line with it. Just like it was to begin with.

That's about where I've got it then. There's probably around 3 feet from the sign to the edge of the fence I put up. It was pretty easy digging so if it needs to be moved a little here or there, it shouldn't be too difficult, but it looks like it did the last time. I thought that's what we planned on with the last piece so it's a good thing I didn't dig any holes. haha

No prob. I'll probably go up there and put some pool noodles on the cable and another clamp this week some time. I'm not gonna tackle that canopy by myself though! Haha. I'll be up there Sunday for that.

Went up there and got some more cable ties for the gate. It's good to go now. I put 3 white rags on the cable (in addition to the streamers) and they're held on with the same type cable ties. You can't miss that thing but I guess I wanted to get it foolproof in case 4 wheelers or riders of the horse go through there. It's a lot safer now.
Didn't get time today on (my nicely extended) lunch to do anything else, but I might go up there either tonight or tomorrow and put up that other section of fence. I'll stop by Bemiss hardware and get those top rail holder thingy's to replace the broken ones that I was talking about before. By the weekend we should only have to move the canopy and maybe some driveway work. That's my goal anyway.

I gave Shannen 2 more or the top rail end caps last night, so we only need 1 more.

Awesome, I'll pick one up tomorrow on lunch. Are those all one size?

Not sure if there’s different sizes, but just let them know it’s for the horizontal top post ends.

What weekend were we going to try out the games? Has anyone started building the devices needed for the games? If not, do you need some help?
